What it is
Kling 4.0 is the newest generation from Kling AI. In this studio it makes video from a sentence or from a still, "at 720p or 1080p, with durations from 3 to 30 seconds", in the words of its own description.
From a still it "animates a starting image into a 3 to 30-second video", and it takes an end frame as well, so you decide where the clip starts and where it lands.
Both take per-shot prompts: you write the clip as a row of shots, and the length of the video is the sum of the shots. That is a short sequence in one run instead of clips you stitch together afterwards.
Every clip comes back with sound, made in the same pass as the picture. Measured on our first runs: audio on every clip, at no extra charge.
What it is good at
From 3 to 30 seconds. Long enough for a scene with a beginning, a middle and an end.
Write a prompt per shot and get them back as one video, in the order you wrote them.
Give it the first and the last image, and it makes the move in between.
Audio is made with the picture, not laid on top of it, and it costs nothing extra.
Where it struggles
- Kling publishes no list of limitations for 4.0 yet, so none is invented here.
- Two resolutions, 720p and 1080p. For 4K, Kling 3.0 stays in the studio.
- The price is per second, so a 30-second clip costs six times a 5-second one. The amount is on the button before you run.
- Kling 4.0 can also edit a clip and work from references, but those are not in the studio yet.
How to prompt it
Write the clip as shots. One line per shot, each with what happens, where the camera is and how long it lasts; the video is the sum of the shots. For a still, describe the motion, not the picture, because the picture is already there.
An example that shows what that means
Shot 1, 4 seconds: a cyclist rides into an empty street at dawn, wide, the camera low. Shot 2, 3 seconds: close on her face as she looks up at the sky. Shot 3, 5 seconds: she stops at a bakery and the door opens.
What we offer here
Straight from the catalogue, so this list never goes stale. The price is the provider’s published rate with our markup on top, and it is on the button before you run anything.
