Where each falls short

Topaz

  • It enlarges; it does not invent. If the detail is not in the source, precision upscaling will not add it, that is what the Creative tier is for, and it is less faithful by design.
  • Billing is per megapixel of output, not per image, so the price rises with the target size rather than with the source. The Studio shows the amount before you run.

Fast upscale

  • No published list of limitations, so none is invented here.
  • Two steps only, and neither is large. For anything that has to hold up at print size, use Topaz.
  • It has a LoRA field, but it draws on its own gallery rather than on a style you trained. Your own LoRA does not apply here.
