Face swap a video with AI, the right way

Put one face into an existing clip: what to bring, when to use recast instead, and why permission comes first.

What you bring, and what you get
A clip, and one clear photo of the face that goes in. There is no prompt: the model finds the face in the footage and replaces it, and the rest of the clip stays as it was.
It works best where the face is easy to read: turned roughly towards the camera, not too small in the frame, not hidden behind a hand or hair for long.
Face swap or recast?
A face swap changes the face and keeps the person's body, clothes and hair from the clip. Recast swaps the whole person for someone in a photo, up to four people in one video of up to 30 seconds, and keeps the motion, the cuts and the sound.
So: the same presenter with a different face is a face swap; a different presenter altogether is a recast.
Permission first
This is the one tool where you work with someone else's likeness. The studio asks you to confirm once that you have the person's agreement. It records that you said so, not who they are.
Not on a well-known person. A famous face does not come with permission, and a recognisable person in a clip they never agreed to is what goes wrong fastest.
