Which one to pick
Where each falls short
Nano Banana Pro
- Google names the limits itself: small faces, accurate spelling and fine detail are where visual and text fidelity slip.
- Its real-world knowledge is "extensive but not infallible", particularly for anything data-driven, do not treat a generated chart as a source.
- Advanced edits such as masked editing or a major lighting change can come out looking unnatural.
FLUX.2
- Black Forest Labs publishes no list of limitations, so there is none here. What we will say is what we know: this is a family with several tiers, and the cheapest is not the one the marketing describes.
- The variants differ in more than speed. Max is the strongest at following a prompt, Pro trades a little of that for speed, Flex is the precise one. Picking on price alone is how people end up disappointed by a model that was never the one being praised.
Questions
Which is better for text in images?
Nano Banana Pro is the stronger of the two for text. FLUX.2 holds typography well too, and for long briefs with type also look at GPT Image 2.5 and Ideogram.
Can I use my LoRA with Nano Banana Pro?
No, LoRAs run on FLUX models and a few others. FLUX.2 takes your own LoRA.
Where does Nano Banana Pro struggle?
Google names it: small faces, accurate spelling and fine detail. For a series that must hold, anchor it with a reference.
